KENNY DOPE
Without a doubt one of America’s most important contemporary producers, Kenny Dope started off his 25-year music career by organising the famous Brooklyn street parties under the alias Masters At Work. Since his partnership with Mike Delgado and DJ Little Loui Vega, MAW’s production and remixing skills quickly became highly sought after by the likes of R. Kelly, Janet Jackson, Daft Punk and Luther Vandross in the ‘90s. Kenny earned his first big break with the track ‘The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind) with the release of his solo Bucketheads album, not long after making the European charts in 1995. Ever since, Kenny has gone on to collaborate with the biggest names in the industry, and will make an appearance at Pacha this New Year’s Eve.

SYDNEY SAMSON
At the forefront of the Dutch global dance music invasion sits Sidney ‘Riverside Motherfucker’ Samson – the current taste-maker in house music and the chart-topping, club-smashing DJ who recently mixed Ministry Of Sound’s ‘Clubbers Guide To Spring’ compilation. Following up on his sold-out tour of Australia earlier this year, and with a brand new single ‘Shut Up & Let It Go’ in tow, Pacha welcomes Samson back with open arms this New Year’s Eve.

GOLDFISH
Debut album ‘Caught In The Loop’ propelled Cape Town’s electronic phenomenon Goldfish into the international stratosphere, with the duo having since sold out shows around the world from Ibiza to Tokyo and LA to France. It’s hard to imagine a Pacha night without one of the most exciting live electronica acts in the world that’s been voted best live act in South Africa. Goldfish make their way to Australia this New Year’s Eve following on from having their sophomore album signed by PaCha ‘Perceptions of Pacha’. They’ve shared stages with the likes of Fatboy Slim, Paul van Dyk and Pete Tong, and are joining this year’s massive Pacha bill too.

STREETLIFE DJS
It’s Soulwax-meets-Coldcut-meets-Sasha-and-Digweed, according to dance music’s most influential figure Pete Tong, but Streetlife DJs are so much more than that. Touted as the UK’s own version of 2Many DJs, there is simply no musical boundary this duo hasn’t crossed, thanks to 25 years of turbtablist experience between them. With a set that is more akin to one big lesson in the history of dance music, it’s also the most fun lesson Pacha is set to learn this New Year’s Eve. Also currently signed to one of the coolest record labels in the world, Kitsune, we can rely on Streetlife DJs to turn up the party.

GRUM
Bringing the entirely instrumental and MC-based beats to Pacha this New Year’s Eve is drum and bass/grime fusion Grum. Ever since tracks such as ‘Heartbeats’ began to appear on blogs like Discodust, Grum’s music has been so in demand that Hype Machine calculated him the second most blogged act on the globe, closely following Radiohead. The creation of Rage Renegade, Grum’s super-cool DIY ethic has given rise to his prominence that of Justice-style proportions and then some.

GOODWILL
Also going by several different pseudonyms, Goodwill’s production skills have covered a number of various genres which have made it onto one after another of Ministry Of Sound compilations. Leaking his own White label bootleg mash-ups to fellow DJs and straight onto dance floors nation-wide, Goodwill has remixed megastars, toured Australia and internationally, and has an occasional, though thankfully rare, tendency to stage dive into unsuspecting crowds.

THE ASTON SHUFFLE
The most successful dance act ever to come out of Canberra, The Aston Shuffle boys took out an impressive #3 spot on the recent ITM Top 50 poll thanks to their top shelf mixing talents most recently showcased on the Ministry Of Sound Annual 2010 compilation. Without a doubt Australia’s hottest and most in-demand DJ/producer team, The Aston Shuffle have achieved an easily identifiable sound akin to power-raving on an indie groove… All the while making it all seem ever-so-effortless. The Triple J darlings gave us ‘For Everyone’, ‘Stomp Yo Shoes’ and ‘Do You Want More’, and they show no signs of slowing down any time soon.

It isn’t every day that a DJ hailing from the Aussie outback ends up blowing up the stages as a Pacha resident DJ, let alone one of the elite remixing crew Pacha Allstars. Well experienced in rocking the stages of Ibiza, London, New York and Beijing, Johnny Gleeson’s reputation has also grown through his residencies at Australia’s own hotspots Defected, Favela and Hed Kandi. He’s firmly cemented his place in house music history in his home country, and earned a reputation as a standout act in just about ever corner of the globe. YOLANDA BE COOL
They reference one of the most bad-ass motherfucking movies ever made (Pulp Fiction, if you haven’t caught on), but Yolanda Be Cool are equally as cool on the decks when it comes to their conga jams that have world-class producers lining up for remixing duties. Signed to the equally-talented Sweat It Out label, Yolanda Be Cool is madness in its best form.

Interview with Mo’funk
Did you have any pre-conceived ideas about the music industry?
Mo’funk: Many, but I kind of had to see everything to believe it. I tried my hands at all aspects of the music industry to have a good understanding of how things run - id recommend that to anyone passionate about music, learn your industry!
What's your inspiration?
Mo’funk: Talented and unique people who stand out from the crowd that become popular through their art and creativity. Perfect example - PRINCE. Look out for this amazing talent Ryan Leslie, produces, performs, and does just about everything - an outstanding rnb vocalist who, through YouTube shows how he creates all his music - truly inspiring!
What music/artists do you listen to?
Mo’funk: Im a soul kid, grew up with it, cant live without it. Through that I discovered hip-hop, rnb, house, downtempo and a whole host of genres - my head is full of music every minute of every day! D'angelo, Prince, Stevie Wonder, A Tribe Called Quest, Alicia Keys, Marvin Gaye, Common, Crazy Penis, De La Soul, and of course, Michael Jackson RIP!
What's next?
Mo’funk: Continue to perfect my craft of Djing, I never stop learning new styles and tricks. Im always continuing to learn about production. Look out for The Fly Mac'a-dame'ien tunes to be released soon! More touring over the Aussie summer, come March i head off again starting in Miami for the winter music conference. Then onto some touring around the states, before settling into another European summer in Ibiza!
Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel?
Mo’funk: There was a stage in Sydney clubs where it just got so eaten up by shorterm trends in both music and fashion, I felt a bit ashamed to see where my hometown was going, it didn't suit my style, nor did it look like it was getting any better. I left 3 years ago to pursue a career overseas, turned out to be the right decision and im extremely happy with how everything is going. Its been a year since I was last here, and am ready to unleash onto my country what im all about! Good fun music with soul will always be here no matter what new trends come!
What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?
Mo’funk: Ive loved music from a very early age, growing up I was almost a lone outsider who was into the music I liked. It pretty much started by djing at house parties and went from there! I knew being a dj was a perfect way to express my passion for music to others. From their I decided to try my hands at all aspects of the industry - radio, web, street press, record shops - you name I tried it - but it all lead back to the fact that djing was what I love to do! Djs I admire: Jazzy Jeff, Derrick Carter and my favourite to watch Dj Revolution
What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?
Mo’funk: To maintain a level of credibility and support from my peers. Always stayed true to my style and sounds. Never wanted to bite the dust and go cheesy for the sake of getting paid - once your peers know you mean well, then its all systems go from there!
What has been your favorite part of becoming a music artist?
Mo’funk: The travelling, I have always said that my main goal is to see the world doing what I love doing...i'm on that path right now!
Are you single? What do you look for in a partner?
Mo’funk: Right now yes, I am, its kind of tough to keep a special someone due to the travel and lifestyle. Im a sucker for fun girls who arent afraid to show their funny side! Ideally a cool chick that is as much fun to be around as my boys

Achieving what you want to achieve, not being affected by people who tell you cant do it, when you really can!
