Whether you love him for his performances, DJ skills, radio show, or just appreciate a true master of the turntable, it cannot be denied that Brown is already a legend in the music industry. His professionalism and skill behind the wheels of steel is unmatchable and his diligent and quality work continues to astonish everyone who crosses his path.
How does it feel to mix works by such major international artists?
DJ Nino Brown: Very cool, it is different to when DJ's do mix tapes. When you do Blazin' you have to have artist approval and that. It is honouring that they let you play with their babies. When an artist makes a song it is a part of them, it is a very creative process and I do not take the trust they have given me lightly.
Which is your favourite song on the album?
DJ Nino Brown: Pants Hang Low by Plies.
How does it feel to be called Australia's Number One DJ?
DJ Nino Brown: Feels very cool. I never expected to be called that, it is definitely a cool thing. A lot of hard work and practice has taken me to where I am now as an artist.
What do you like most about the Blazin' CD's?
DJ Nino Brown: It is exciting to make a full street style mixed CD which is available for the industry.
Was there a moment when you knew you had made it in your industry?
DJ Nino Brown: When I first got signed to do the Blazin' CD I knew I had hit the big thing, I definitely thought I had made it then.
Whose music do you admire most?
DJ Nino Brown: That is a hard question, I like so many artists. I definitely like pop like Ne-Yo, he is a great singer and has song talents. I also admire Lil Wayne, he has been an individual lyrically, he has his own original style and whether you like him or not you have to admit he has a unique hip hop style. I like all hip-hop and anyone who is unique at what they do.
What inspires you?
DJ Nino Brown: I love music, mostly love hip hop and R'n'B. With Blazin' a lot of people thought it couldn't be done, I made it happen. Because people said it couldn't be done that was the mere factor I made it happen. I was inspired by all great people, especially historical figures and my parents. Jay-Z is a huge inspiration; he has talent and is an individual. Jay-Z gives me the feeling of wanting to be great at what I'm doing, because his is great at what he is doing, he has a great attitude. You have to have the attitude of "I can do whatever I put my mind too".
What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?
DJ Nino Brown: Anything, depending on my mood. I listen to a lot of old-school slow jam and hip hop, I still listen to Jay-Z nearly every day! Ne-Yo, Beyonce, Steview Wonder and I like Reggae as well!
Do you prefer performing live or recording?
DJ Nino Brown: A bit of both to be honest. I don't really have a favourite.
What has been your favorite part of becoming a music artist?
DJ Nino Brown: Definetley the release of the album, Blazin. I also liked DJ battles when I was younger they were fun! I also love touring.
If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?
DJ Nino Brown: Jay-Z that would be awesome. Sort of a Blazin, Jay-Z exclusive. That would definitely be cool.
